Friday, October 8 – Rainforest Night at the Domes, 6-9:30pm

Explore a “tropical rainforest” guided by the light of your flashlight. See birds of the rainforest. Learn about the rainforest and our dependence on it. Sample tasty products of the tropics, such as chocolate, nuts, plantain, coffee, and exotic fruits and juices. Meet tropical birds, upclose and in person. The Arid and Floral Show domes will also be open for your exploration. Make your own tropical sundae (free with admission). Friday, October 15 – Nature Walk at Warnimont Dog Exercise Area, 10am 

Join the Kelly Center and County Supervisor Patricia Jursik on a hike along the beautiful wooded trails of this new exercise area. You are welcome to hike with or without a dog. For details on permits for dogs, please visit

Fixx Coffee House of St. Francis has opened Fixx Too, a kiosk at the entrance to Warnimont Dog Exercise Area. Park users can now purchase coffee, smoothies and other drinks while enjoying the wooded trails and letting their dogs burn off some energy. For coffee kiosk hours, visit or call 482-0919.

Friday, October 15 – Cudahy Fall Festival, 5-6pm

Kids can participate in a Halloween Costume competition and pumpkin carving. Food for purchase includes brats, hot dogs, and apple cider. Project Concern will collect donations of non-perishable foods and toiletries. The Farmer’s Market (from Noon to 6pm) will relocate to this area as well. Friday, October 15 – Wine Tasting and Silent Auction, 7-9:30pm

Support South Milwaukee Public Library while sampling wine, enjoying music by the Danny Nimphius Bluegrass Band, and enjoying a presentation on the various wines by Anthony Chowder from Otto’s of Bayside. Purchase $20 tickets at the Library, Parkway Floral, M&I Bank or at the door on the night of the tasting. At South Milwaukee Public Library, 1907 10th Ave, South Milwaukee.

Saturday, October 16 – South Shore Noon Lions Chili Dinner, 4-6:30pm

Adults eat for $7 to benefit Project/Human Concerns, Interfaiths and Lions Foundation. Purchase tickets at the door or from a Noon Lion. At Grobschmidt Senior Center, 2424 15th Ave, South Milwaukee.

Thursday, October 21 – Fall Festival & Final South Milwaukee Downtown Market, 3-6pm; Kids activities start at 4pm
