The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Translating Public Union Liberal Speak

Scott Walker, Union, Wisconsin, Public Sector Unions, PUP

It is being said:

Walker campaigned for more than a year and never once said he would take away union bargaining rights.  He is stomping on the workers!

(I get so many emails from public sector workers using that very term and saying – makes me wonder if they all read in a union memo!  They all use stomping and not stepping!)

Translation – First, we need to set the scene.  Picture a person jumping up and down with a big frown on their face completely unhinged.  When they stop jumping up and down, they just keep stomping their feet shouting with a scowl on their face, this isn’t fair he never said anything about this, ending mandatory recycling, taking mass transit off the gas tax or separate the UW system and MPS.

Is it on his campaign literature?  If so then he did, if not it will be on the next one!

Governor Walker can only do the following:

Replace Department of Commerce with development-focused agency

Cut small-business taxes

Suspend taxes for two years on businesses that relocate here

Require cabinet to hold "brown bag lunches" with employees to find waste, fraud and abuse

Curb frivolous lawsuits through legal reforms

Create "jobs hotline" for direct access to governor's office

Eliminate state tax on Health Savings Accounts

Identify $300 million in waste, fraud and abuse in state budget and eliminate it

Sign legislation requiring photo ID to vote

Reduce taxes on employers

Replace Department of Commerce with development-focused agency

Allow state to file or join lawsuits to block federal health care reform

Create and convene "Waste, Fraud and Abuse" Commission

Call special legislative session on jobs

Stop Milwaukee to Madison high-speed rail link on first day in office

See no mention of it.  Stamp stamp… He can ONLY do what he campaigned on!  That is it.  15 items.  And don’t he dare bring in conceal carry.  That isn’t in there.  Just the 15 items for 48 months.  The rest of the time, he needs to shut up and sit down!

I'd like to think the majority of us are broad minded & shouldered and manage not to hyperventilate!  Brown bag, anyone?

The only thing being stomped on is the ground by the public sector union!

Let’s step through a misnomer that the Union Leaders know, but are NOT sharing with Union Members.

Without the Collective Bargaining changes, Scott Walker’s changes to the Health and Pension Benefits would be illegal and the courts would make that ruling.

To try and win over the public, the Union Leaders are NOW freely saying, sure we will take the cuts (knowing it would get over turned), but the truth is they have told their members they will NOT and the actions of quickly racing to ram new contracts through without the concessions.

Ask yourself this, if they are willing, why haven’t they done so?

Again, without the changes in collective bargaining, the monetary changes that Scott Walker is asking for would be illegal and the union leaders know that, which is why the unions are publicly stating they will accept these cuts, knowing they would get turned over without the changes in collective bargaining.

No real social change has ever been brought about without a revolution... revolution is but thought carried into action.  -Emma Goldman

How can fringe benefits cost nearly as much as a worker's salary?

Answer: Collective Bargaining!

Principles only mean something if you stand by them when it's inconvenient.

Leaders don’t govern by polls, those are politicians.  A leader governs by principles, policy, values, and understanding what the problems are and what needs to be done.

Governor Walker is exactly what this state required.  Those who can't see that either have their hands in the public cookie jar or are blindly following their beloved liberal party's rhetoric despite economic realities.

Again, is it on his campaign literature?  If so then he did, if not it will be on the next one!

Four years from now (it will turn around in one and the left knows that which is why they are doing everything in the world to stop Walker so it doesn’t.  How could a recall work if Wisconsin is better off?)  Wisconsin’s economy will turn around and the people will be thanking Governor Walker for this.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.  A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.  From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.  - Alexander Fraser Tytler

“The Founding Fathers had it right from the very beginning,” Fred Thompson said.  “The wisdom of the ages, the fact that our basic rights come from God and not from government, the notion that a government big enough and powerful enough to give you anything is big enough and powerful enough to take anything away from you…respect for the rule of law…the institution of the market economy…[the belief] that if a person earned a dollar, that dollar belonged in the person’s pocket…”  Those should be our guiding principles, he said.

Actually, the way he flips big government around to show the flip side is very Chesterton-esque.
