Now is the time to put on shorts instead of long pants. It will be getting hot soon. We seem to go from winter right to summer with very little spring involved. Softball will be very active now, so join a league if you can. Outdoor basketball and tennis is back. Get some sun and excercise. Take your family to the park and enjoy the play area and lilacs in bloom. Volleyball is a lot of fun. There are horseshoe courts in some of our parks. This is how to develop your pitching arm for softball. If you like to fish, then go to a small lake and enjoy yourself. Finish preparing your garden so that you can enjoy the fruits of your efforts.
The South Shore Farmers Market will open on Saturday, June 18th at South Shore Park, 2900 S. Shore Dr. in Bay View, from 8 AM to 12 Noon. There will be over 40 vendors to serve you. There will be an educational program followed by a musical program at the market. Come early and relax with your friends. There will be three bakeries and two coffee shops open there. Come early and you can find a picnic table for your family to sit at. Y'all come and join us.
