The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Odd Complaints

In my line of work along with most people’s work, you show respect, act professional and unless you are on a personal basis with someone present and address them formally.

Now during the same week I received two complaints from customers in that they didn’t like being formally addressed by Mr. and Mrs.  In both cases it was someone in their early forties.  And in both cases it was the same reason to my boss, having someone address me formally makes me old and I am not old I am 43 and 44 respectively.

Now they had no issue telling my boss how old they were and they feel that they are not old.  I get it that 40 is the new 30 and people want to cling to youth as long as possible, but the cold fact is 43 and 44 is old.

I find it odd that these two individuals are also unrelated, at different companies, don’t know each other and are in the white-collar professionals fields.

I have made corrective action for them going forward when addressing them.

I just want to know where and when proper formality was tossed out the window.  I was raised to be respectfully formal and professional when addressing unknown people or people with titles.
