Family lured Jerrianne and her husband to South Milwaukee in 2002 from Southern California where she worked as, first, a journalist, then, as a court information officer. She now stays busy with media-relations consulting, playing with her three grandchildren (part of the lure), writing, discovering her new environs, and hoping her garden will produce before the first fall frost.

Drive a horse-and-carriage, fire a Civil War cannon, tour the Leinenkugel Brewery -- with Dick Leinenkugel.

Those and dozens of other experiences and great items, such as an aerial tour FOR THREE of Milwaukee, sports memorabilia including framed and matted photos of 2011 MVPs Ryan Braun and Aaron Rodgers, and an African safari, can be had for the highest bid at the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field's 50th Annual Charity Auction, Friday, Oct. 19, at the Clarion Hotel, 5311 S. Howell Avenue (directly across from Mitchell International Airport).

Cocktails and FREE BEER! at 5:30 p.m., silent auction and dinner at 6:30 p.m., live auction at 8 p.m.

This auction is the Club's primary fundraiser for numerous local and international causes and projects, including college scholarships, Thanksgiving baskets for families in need, Goodwill Industries' Christmas celebration, as well as Rotary Internaitonal initiatives such as End Polio Now. This project, which to date is 98 percent effective, will make Rotary the only private organization in the world to ever eradicate a disease.

This event is perfect for anyone with a big heart, and a love for great deals, raffles for super gifts and Celtic music, which will be provided by South Milwaukee's own Garlic Mustard Pickers.
