The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Repository of Information

2013 Election, Cudahy, Blogging, Jason Litkowiec, Packard Plaza

We should all think of my blog as a repository of information, hopefully together with a description of City related things, when it appears and how to troubleshoot it.

The blog I know contains more than just City things, but it is not going away and the vast amount of items will stay in the repository.  It is now part of the overall knowledgebase in the hope that it provides a useful service to the community.  My blog was initially provided as a tool, a platform for my voice to be heard but has since evolved.  It is a place where all of our voices can be heard and whereas alderman I will reach out directly and publicly to people.

Please, always add your comments and questions (which we will all try to answer), as this increases the blog “repository” usefulness for all of us.  We may disagree to the max on things, but you still have a say, a voice and even if I don’t agree with it, I will fight to have it heard!

At the February 5, 2013 Common Council meeting it was talked about what should we do about the Packard Plaza?  We have an owner who doesn’t seem to want to put money into and fix it up.  The owner seems to be bent on just squeezing money out of the tenants still there.

We had two different views on what to do.

One was to do nothing given the guy is rich and if we upset him he will just sit on it and do nothing and become hostile to the City.

The second was to as Cudahy Alderman Jason Litkowiec says, I am going to paraphrase him here as I don’t have his exact quote, treat him like a slumlord and force him to fix it up or sell it soon – if that means our inspectors go and make lists of the code violations and infractions that he bring it up to code.

Which would you prefer?  It is things like this as alderman if brought before me (if I didn’t have enough time to reach out to my constituents such as the agenda was emailed or not delivered in time – I would table until talking to you) that I would be posting on the blog, emailing my constituents directly or calling to find out what you want, not what I want to do.  This affects all of us and your input is critical.
