The Way I See It!

I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Do We Want The Same Old Same Old Or Something Genuinely Different?

2013 Election, Alderman, Cudahy, Election, Randy Hollenbeck

People are astonished by evolutionary that move to revolutionary and my take on bringing the people of the 3rd district back into power over our local government is just that!

"…that government of the people, by the people, for the people…"  - Abraham Lincoln

The original intent and design of our government was to be governed by the very people they are serving, the common man, and not some politician.

We have a Republic form of Democracy and the evolution of it is not always moving in the right way or direction.  Sometimes we need a revolution of back to basics (BTB) and give the people who think they are in charge a jolt of the real power of ‘the people” the real people in charge, the common people.  These are common people that live in the city and pay the wages of the public servants and we have allowed politicians to take over and corrupt the system.  When you let your house get dirty, it takes some time to clean it up.  The city is no different.

As a public servant, not only are you paid by the public, but also hold the public's trust.

“Trust is the easiest thing in the world to lose, and the hardest thing in the world to get back.”  - R. Williams

Currently this is how City Government is run - Knowledge is power and by depriving swathes of people of knowledge, we retain power over them.  They are wrong and I am about to change that and give the people all the governmental knowledge I can as alderman.  And with that knowledge comes the power back to the people!

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty”.  - Thomas Jefferson

My question to you…does your Alderperson ever reach out to you, the constituents, if you are not contacting him?  Have you ever been called by your alderperson or county supervisor to see how you stood on a topic?  I haven’t.

Elected officials routinely are judged based on the extent to which their campaign promises meet the expectations of action on the campaign promises and for each elected officials, the expectations are different.

If a candidate claims they are for low taxes and low fees, does that mean they want to lower them?

If a candidate claims they are for the taxpayers and you find out they signed the recall of Scott Walker and don’t support Act 10 are they really for the taxpayers?

Beware of those that trim facts to fit wants instead of needs or truth.

We can keep electing the same old same old types of people that will tell you what you want to hear to get you to vote for them and then they stop listening to you!  They are determined to bring their agenda and NOT yours.  They are the type that serves fudge every three years just to get re-elected.  They are the type that runs from who they are and what they have said or done in the past.  It’s a pity, really, to believe so little in what you have to say that you won’t own those words that you run from them and don’t have the courage and convictions to stand behind who and what you are – the real you and not the fake concocted you made to pander for votes.  They are the ones that play the classic game of politics and move to the center.  They are the type who cannot tell you how they are going to do things, but promise you the most.  They are the type that is more style over substance because they are mostly fluff.  They are the type that will tell you they are a reformer but cannot give a game plan to reforming.  They are those types that are classic politics of politicians who offer double-talk to gobbledy-gook doublespeak as their answers instead of being honest and truthful with the citizens.

You can fool all of the people some of the time!

You can fool some of the people all of the time;

But you can't fool all the people all of the time!

Life isn't like a bowl of cherries or peaches...

It's more like a jar of jalapenos.

What you do today,

Might burn your butt tomorrow.

The choices we make today have consequences.

“While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions”.  - S.Covey

When a candidate says they’ll do something, ask them HOW WILL YOU DO IT?  It’s one thing to make a promise and it’s an entirely different matter to actually accomplish a promise.

Yes, we can keep doing and electing the same old same old types of people and expecting things to change and being disappointed that it didn’t happen.  After all, it was Einstein who once said, "To do the same thing over and over again the same way only to expect different results is the definition of insanity."

It is time to break the mold.  It is time to choose something different.  It is time to go with unconventional.  It is time you say you have had it with the classic politician that turns into a career politician.

“Politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians”. - Charles de Gaulle

I am the right person to be the voice of Cudahy’s 3rd district.  I am the right person to bring real change and bring Cudahy government back to the true people in charge, the people.  I will work for you!

When you are the only one standing, you will stand out!

I am not a politician; even once elected I will NOT be a politician, but a common man who serves the public.  Someone who is their voice and follows their agenda.  I work for Jane Q. Taxpayer, Harry Hardworker, and John Q. Public

I promise to bring information to the public, listen to what they say, be guided by their agenda or I will NOT run for re-election.  You wouldn’t have to worry about firing me by not re-electing me.  If I cannot do what I say I will, I will NOT run.  It is that plain and simple.

Let me close by stating again and repeating a small part of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address – “Government of the people, by the people, for the people” and let me add that, you and we are the people!

I will be fighting for you and working with you, the people!
