Culinary yes-yes #62

If you’re not aware of how much I enjoy wine, either 1) this is your very first time reading a Ms. Elaine Kneeous blog or 2) you don’t pay attention when you read.  I believe I’ve mentioned how much I love “the grape” as many times as I’ve mentioned I love my family and pizza.

Lest you think I only care about myself and my own wine consumption, I would like to start this blog with some promising (at least for now) information for the wine industry.  Yes, I pay attention to the business topics as well.  Thanks to strong grape harvests & a recovering economy things are looking up.

Speaking of husbands (see the above cartoon) my better half called me the other day from his office.  His important question?  “What kinds of Girl Scout cookies would you like me to order from my coworker?”  Caramel DeLites, Thin Mints, Lemonades and Tagalongs were requested for the Fischer household.  Believe it or not, that was before I read this article.  My goodness…  I’ll be working on those pairings faster than you can say “match made in heaven.”

Now let’s say that I’m somewhere with a bottle of wine with no means to open it, but want to have a drink.  (It’s OK to chuckle at that sentence.  Seriously?  Like I’d be in that situation.  I don’t carry a Swiss Army Knife but if there’s a bottle and it’s an appropriate time, how on earth would I not have a cork screw?)  At any rate, I now know that I simply need a shoe and a wall:

Finally, we’re still in “New Year’s Mode” if you’ve made any resolutions.  If you have, chances are at least one is related to improving your overall health.  So, may I suggest simply:  Drink wine!

Fun new ways to incorporate wine in your life and enjoy it?  Naturally it’s a Culinary Yes Yes!

So, we covered a lot of wine territory.  Obviously that comes bottled.  (Please, let’s not talk about Franzia.)  But how would you feel about bottled Mahhattans, Cosmo’s, Margaritas, or Martinis?

A lovely tribute to a long marriage & much-missed wife.

I have a couple of dear friends who need a gluten-free diet.  I’m sure they, and anyone else who needs to follow a no-wheat way of life, would love this.

Looking for yet another opportunity to enjoy cuisine from the Bartolotta Restaurant Group?  By mid-June you will be able to.
