Chill out

“What exactly is ‘global warming’ anyway? That's really four questions:

1. Is the globe warming?
2. Is the warming caused by man?
3. But is global warming a crisis?
4. If the globe is warming, can America do anything about it?”

5 reasons why marijuana should remain illegal

"How did we end up in a world where Big Gulps are being banned in New York while the welcome mat for potheads is being rolled out in Colorado? How is it that cigarette smokers are pariahs, while people smoking weed are being cheered? This is despite the fact that potheads are almost universally recognized as unmotivated, low class, degenerate – and, yes, smelly failures."

But as is the norm in Washington, the lawmakers and lobbyists have figured out a workaround..."

Of the two methods, early voting is preferable because it takes place inside a building where poll workers can observe the process. Absentee voting is much more problematic because the ballots are cast away from the supervision of election officials, and coercion, manipulation, and fabrication can be a part of the process."

Leaning right in Hollywood, under a lens

"In a famously left-leaning Hollywood, where Democratic fund-raisers fill the social calendar, Friends of Abe stands out as a conservative group that bucks the prevailing political winds. A collection of perhaps 1,500 right-leaning players in the entertainment industry, Friends of Abe keeps a low profile and fiercely protects its membership list, to avoid what it presumes would result in a sort of 21st-century blacklist..."
