Sebelius Gets Ultimate Obamacare Promotion: Unemployed

"HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius will now get to enjoy one of the benefits of Obamacare touted by Democrats: She'll have a lot more time to make dinner.

"That's because like a lot of other Obamacare victims, she has now lost her job.

"Thank goodness her insurance is portable.

"In losing her job as the head of Health and Human Services, she can take satisfaction that she now gets to see Obamacare in the same way the rest of us do, as a job destroyer."

A glimpse into the political future

"Six years into the Obama presidency, Americans have ample grounds, independent of race, to dislike him."

‘Why Government Fails So Often’ by Peter H. Schuck

"Schuck makes a compelling case that many domestic programs, including those that have considerable public support among Republicans as well as Democrats, deliver benefits at costs that are much higher than necessary and contain damaging unintended consequences."

Lawsuit filed: Jesus not welcome in Nazareth, Pa. school

"A little boy broke into tears after a Nazareth, Pa. teacher confiscated his Valentine’s Day cards because they contained religious messages and a Bible verse about Jesus, a lawsuit filed this week in federal court alleges.

"Imagine that. According to the lawsuit, Jesus was not welcome in Nazareth. You can’t make this stuff up, folks."

Can conservatives be fixed scientifically?

"Thanks to learned scientists, I've discovered that I suffer from a mental problem afflicting millions of Americans. It's not really a disease. It's more like a peculiarity, one that irritates polite society yet may be corrected with surgery to the frontal lobe. What is this deviancy? Conservatism."

Tax Freedom Day 2014 is April 21, Three Days Later Than Last Year

Why I'm too scared to do my own taxes

"It's tax time. I'm too scared to do my taxes. I'm sure I'll get something wrong and my enemies in government will persecute -- no, I mean prosecute -- me. So I hired Bob.

"Bob's my accountant. I like Bob, but I don't like that I have to have an accountant. I don't want to spend time keeping records and talking to Bob about boring things I don't understand, and I really don't want to pay Bob. But I have to.

"What a waste."

The new ABCs of business

"Words may mean different things in the workplace than they do elsewhere. (Business thrives on imprecision when it suits the occasion.) This makes defining terminology particularly crucial: One must understand what is being obscured as well as what is being said. Here is a partial listing of some especially helpful words to know. The general study of business verbiage, however slippery and challenging, is extremely rewarding for those who believe that it is sometimes important to understand what other people are saying."

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Takes Libertarian Values to the Big Screen & Cultural Mainstream

“The film is a dark, intense thriller with an unmistakably political bent. And oh yeah, critics and audiences love it.

“In a day where our own bureaucracy is tantamount to tyranny, Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) is the action hero the country needs. Captain America and his team do not fight bad guys with sternly worded letters from the United Nations or by telling them they are crossing ‘red lines.’ Captain America uses brute strength with his Vibranium alloy shield.”
