UPDATE: The $1.1 million concession stand or, how the Franklin Public School district spends your money
Previously on This Just In…
The update...the Elm Grove school district is also building a concession stand and restroom pavilion for one of its high schools for considerably less!
That could only mean the following:
Franklin's concession stand must be selling only Angus Beef, flown-in that day seafood, fried chicken, egg rolls, prosciutto-wrapped melon balls, shrimp cocktails, pot stickers, mozzarella marinara, crab and lobster stuffed mushrooms, buffalo wings, Perrier, Door County cherries, Godiva chocolates, turtle cheesecake, apple turnovers, strawberry Schaum torte, and baked Alaska.
Franklin’s restroom just has to be made exclusively with Kohler products with designer fixtures, gilded mirrors, eco-friendly hand-dryers, wainscoting, live cut orchids at every pedestal sink, stained glass, chandeliers, Italian marble, and a large sofa in the ladies room.
The Franklin School District. The Jesse James Gang rides again.
REACTION: A Franklin resident wanted to comment but doesn’t have a necessary Facebook account. The resident wrote to me:
These concession stands come as no surprise because that’s how they operate. Families of children in our public school system get school supply lists every year that include us providing copy paper, kleenex, ziploc bags. They can afford this outrageously expensive concession stand but not copy paper, etc??? I have so much contempt for how this city is run and hearing how other cities manage makes it even worse.
Now I am involved in a lawsuit against the MMSD because they are tacking on a MMSD charge on our tax bills even though in our area we have no sewer. This is supposedly illegal but but Franklin seems to be above the law. In 2012 and 2013 we paid an extra $290 for a service we don’t have.
Franklin at it again, not a surprise.
The lawsuit the resident writes about was the subject of this blog.
