He believes Bay View has a fine tradition in its past that we do not want to lose in the future.

A tribute to Rudy Manke

Rudy Manke, age 91, passed away recently. He started off at his family's greenhouse business in North Milwaukee, Town of Granville. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He was at Omaha Beach on D-Day.  He drove an ambulance during the war. When he came back from service he returned to his florist business and later moved on. He served in many veterans groups, some as leader. He did a lot of volunteering at the Zablocki Veteran's Hospital in Wood, Wisconsin. He drove veterans to and from the hospital for many years. Last year he received many awards as he celebrated his 90th birthday. He will be greatly missed by all. He was my uncle and my parent's first cousin. He lived a full life and now he can rest in peace. RIP Rudy, until we meet again.
