Bo Knows...Franklin?

The best thing going in Franklin could get a lot better.

The Milwaukee Business Journal reports:

Bo Jackson's Elite Sports — an indoor sports-training center — could soon be training athletes in metro Milwaukee under a dome at The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin.

The Bo Jackson organization of Chicago would partner in the project with Mike Zimmerman, who developed The Rock on Milwaukee County-owned land near South 76th Street and West Rawson Avenue. The Rock now includes six baseball fields, biking and skiing courses and a hilltop umbrella bar.

After the news broke, the following comments were heard inside Franklin City Hall:

That Zimmerman. He’s just tryin’ to show us up with all that vision and forward thinking stuff.

There’s gonna be more traffic….

Noise. We can’t be havin’ all that extra noise.

We need to hire a consultant to see how bad this could possibly be.

Athletes? We don’t want their kind in Franklin.

Can’t we go into closed session to find a way to kill this?

It better look just right.

Design has to be real nice.

Who does Zimmerman think he is?

A bank in that facility would be nice.

Or a nail salon.

And a bike path!

Hmmmm. I see….a bowling alley.

Green space. Must have lots of green space or forget it.

Just wait it out. Eventually Bo will go to Oak Creek.

Wasn’t the Rock an apple orchard a long time ago?

Will folks be able to ride their bikes to that thing or not?

I said…hire a damn consultant!

This used to be such a nice, quiet little town.

Bo who?

BTW, expect to read about this in the news section of FranklinNOW in about a week.
