** Talent Show was cancelled due to City Hall's Budget cuts. We went from $150,000

Milwaukee 4th of July Commission Budget in 2007 to $105,000 Budget this year.

If you will check all of the parks with the Milwaukee 4th of July Commission, you will see

greatly reduced park programs, including one park that folded its Independence Day

activities and is having a picnic instead.  Next year they are forcasting an even bigger budget cut and possible

elimination of the Milwaukee 4th of July Commission and more severe cuts to the park's

remaining programs. It seems to me  that the City of Milwaukee does not believe in

celebrating our country's Independence  Day.  We as American citizens should be able

to continue our celebrations into the future. Maybe some patriotic politicians could be

elected to office that are loyal to the United States of America, and are willing to celebrate

its Independence Day again. You are the voter. You must choose who you want to serve

us in our local government.  We should support them like they support us.  Notify Mayor

Barrett and your alderperson and let them know how you feel about this matter. Do you

want to see Independence Day celebrations cancelled in Milwaukee?  Do you feel

patriotic enough to support our Milwaukee 4th of July Associations?  Do you want

politicians who do not support our country's Independence Day enough to provide

funding for its celebration in Milwaukee?  You are the voter. You make the decision.
